The Aboriginal Precision Medicine project aims to drive culturally safe and community-informed initiatives across NSW as part of the Australian Alliance for Indigenous Genomics.

About the Role
  • This is a mid-senior level, full-time position to coordinate project activities in collaboration with Aboriginal Medical Services, communities, NSW Health, and governance bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to co-design, develop, and implement state-wide precision medicine initiatives.
  • Lead capacity building activities, including community engagement, educational resource development, and workforce training.
  • Support governance, ethics, and evaluation processes ensuring cultural and scientific integrity.
  • Contribute to Indigenous genomics policy, advocacy, and knowledge translation efforts.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, research, or health promotion, preferably in genomics or precision medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and work effectively with Aboriginal communities.
  • Skills in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and report writing skills.
  • Qualifications in public health, health promotion, or equivalent experience.
