PJ & JR Phillips Pty Ltd is a leading provider of industrial concrete supplies to trade stores across the country. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team and contribute to the company's financial success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action
  • Keep up to date with monthly payroll documents and ensure that all other statutory requirements are met
  • Complete the BAS reconciliation and all other required related taxation obligations
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
  • Maintain the financial health of the organisation
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm's finances
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
  • Manage the preparation of the company's budget
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
  • Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure
  • Arrange for equity and debt financing
  • Recommend appropriate dividend issuance, based on historical dividend patterns and expected cash flows
  • Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput
  • Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price
  • Assist the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing
  • Compile key business metrics and report on them to management
  • Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Financial Manager
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
  • Proficient user of finance software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong financial reporting and tax experience
  • A thorough understanding of financial governance practices
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
