Child and Youth Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at ac, providing quality care and support to children and young people in our residential care program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting the child's or young person's growth and development.
- Manage risk and ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people, reporting any incidents or concerns to the relevant authorities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic programs and activities, promoting the child's or young person's physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the child's or young person's progress, including daily observations, care plans, and incident reports.
- Qualifications in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a related field.
- Experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
