Job Role: Family Support Specialist

This position focuses on delivering high-quality support through interactive playgroups, parenting courses, group work, and home visits—all within an integrated service model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client-Centered Support: Tailor services to meet individual client needs through interactive playgroups, parenting programs, and home visits.
  • Integrated Service Delivery: Collaborate with local services to strengthen referral pathways and advocate for best outcomes.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate client records and statistical data in line with legislative requirements.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning through training, forums, and courses.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a safe and tidy work environment, actively participating in safety initiatives and reporting incidents.
Required Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate effective parenting groups using evidence-based programs.
  • Experience planning and running supported playgroups.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with CALD and Aboriginal communities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • A current Driver's License.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Early Childhood, or Social Welfare.
  • Experience in child development, effective parenting strategies, and group facilitation.
  • Some background in case management is desirable.
