We are seeking an experienced cook to join our team at Chatkazz Harris Park, a renowned Indian restaurant in Australia. With a passion for delivering high-quality cuisine, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Prepare, season, and cook a variety of dishes to meet customer orders and menu requirements.
  • Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and cutting vegetables and meat.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, adhering to WHS regulations.
  • Communicate equipment or ingredient shortages to the team, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Receive, store, and manage foodstuffs, maintaining accurate records.
  • Test cooked foods for quality and presentation, using methods such as tasting and smelling.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food for presentation, and place in platters.
  • Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff, promoting a positive team environment.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in commercial cookery or extensive work experience in Indian culinary/cuisine.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for excellent quality food, produce, and service.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain kitchen procedures and WHS standards.
