As an Aviation Technology Specialist with the Australian Defence Force, you will play a critical role in supporting Navy missions and operations.
You will be responsible for controlling drones designed to enhance situational awareness, detecting and locating surface contacts, gathering information, and coordinating with the team to achieve missions.
Your duties will include launching, operating, flying, and landing drones, gathering intelligence about ship surroundings, patrolling, investigating, and surveillance, search and rescue, detecting and interpreting aerial photographs and information from drone sensors and cameras, mission and flight planning, pre-flight procedures and inspections, identifying weather conditions, operating drones within versatile environments and weather, responding to drone faults, and conducting post-flight reviews, inspections, and maintenance.
In addition to your technical skills, as an officer, you will learn additional skills and duties to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the security and safety of the ship and personnel onboard. This involves providing leadership, management, administration, and career advice to sailors and junior officers within your division.

Average annual salary: $80,000 - $110,000 AUD.
