Financial Reporting Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team.

Job Description

This is a hands-on role that requires delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance outcomes. The ideal candidate will enjoy ownership of their work, thrive on accuracy, and be keen to grow their technical and commercial accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This role involves managing allocated accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and providing insights to support decision-making across the business. You will be responsible for month-end close, balance sheet integrity, compliance & reporting, analysis & insights, and process improvement.

You will work closely with senior finance professionals and collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and advisors to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end month-end process for allocated entities or business units
  • Maintain and review assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare management reports and contribute to statutory reporting, audit schedules, and tax compliance deliverables
  • Provide clear commentary and analysis to support management's understanding of financial results
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Australian Accounting Standards, and relevant legislation
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end processes, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Xero and/or NetSuite an advantage)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Clear communicator who can build strong working relationships across teams
