We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our Construction team at Stockland. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support to our stakeholders across a diverse range of projects.

This is a permanent full-time role based in either Sydney or Brisbane, offering a unique opportunity to work with a leading property developer and contribute to the success of our business.

About the Role

  • Provide specialist legal advice and support to our Construction team, including reviewing and drafting contracts, and negotiating with contractors and consultants.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective management of legal expenditure and provide strategic advice to support business growth.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies for contractual terms outside Stockland's risk profile and provide contractual support during the construction phase of projects.
  • Undertake due diligence of construction and development contracts in the acquisition of assets and capital partnering transactions.

About You

  • Hold a valid practice certificate permitting practice in New South Wales or Queensland.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in construction law, with a strong understanding of Australian Standards Contracts and major government or private infrastructure contracting.
  • Be commercially minded, with a solutions-driven approach and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to establish credibility and build rapport quickly, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
