Production Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our galvanizing plant in Prospect Vale on a full-time permanent basis.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production schedule to meet DIFOT KPIs, customer turnaround times, and ensuring efficient throughput while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance coordination.
  • He or she will manage production process control, including sampling, analysis, and adjustments. The Operations Manager will oversee galvanizing quality to minimize post-process dressing and ensure QA systems compliance through operator training.
  • The role requires coordinating with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to meet customer delivery, quality, and design expectations.
  • Responsibilities also include enforcing safe work practices, investigating incidents and near-misses, and ensuring all safety and environmental events are reported in the business system.
  • The Operations Manager will support operator performance management, timekeeping, and conduct disciplinary actions where needed. He or she will train staff in quality and safety procedures.
  • Ensuring routine tasks such as bath monitoring, production recording, and schedule adherence are executed accurately and consistently is also key to this role.
  • Maintaining accurate records of labor and consumable usage, recommending cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring waste is minimized are essential skills required.
  • Acting as interim Operations Manager when required, maintaining safety and production continuity is crucial.
