About the Role:
This exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our operations team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting our site's environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support to our operational teams regarding legislative and statutory requirements
- Assist in preparing and obtaining various environmental approvals and permits
- Promote proactive reporting of environmental hazards, assist with incident investigations, and follow up corrective actions with site management
- Participate in community events and liaison with stakeholders as required
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and drive environmental compliance through awareness and training
- Manage and maintain environmental monitoring databases
- Support planning and execution of rehabilitation activities
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent field
- Minimum 1 (one) year experience in an environmental role within the mining industry onsite
- Detailed knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice
- Understanding of Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
- A sound understanding of environmental risks and impacts associated with mining and mineral processing operations
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to manage workloads effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Current C-Class driver's license
