Learn to Swim Instructor Job

Are you passionate about teaching swimming and water safety to students of all ages?

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who share our passion for swimming and water safety to join our Learn to Swim team.

As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering our award-winning Aqua Learn to Swim Program at one of our five aquatic venues. You will provide safe and educational experiences for our students while promoting the importance of swimming and water safety in our community.

Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and support to our students and their families. We offer flexible hours, including after-school, weekends, and school holidays, as well as access to discounts for programs and services across our aquatic and leisure centers.

  • Delivery of an award-winning learn-to-swim program catering to over 7,000 students across five aquatic and leisure centers.
  • Provide consistent and exceptional customer service and support to students and their families during their learn-to-swim journey.
  • Time management of class programming and meeting program outcomes.
  • Attend scheduled in-service training and team meetings for ongoing professional development.
  • Promote the importance of swimming and water safety through our Aqua Learn to Swim program to our diverse community members.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification or ability to complete our internal training program.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Swim Australia, Royal Life Saving Society, or similar standard qualifications.
  • Current First Aid qualification.
  • Pool Lifeguard Award or similar standard qualification.
  • Oxygen Equipment Certificate.
  • Coaching/teaching experience.
  • Teacher extension courses including infant and preschool, adults, access and inclusion, and competitive strokes.
  • Current Class C Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations.

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate plus 25% casual loading.
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.
