Technical Report Writer Position

About this role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter or mechanic to transition into a corporate office role as a technical report writer. The main focus is on compiling detailed technical reports for re-manufactured components.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting failure investigations for reman components with product support team assistance
  • Creating technical reports for warranty claims
  • Developing and updating report templates to industry standards
  • Maintaining records of component failure modes and monitoring trends
  • Collaborating with internal teams for in-depth technical understanding of relevant products and customer expectations

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualifications (fitter or mechanic)
  • 5+ years' experience as a fully qualified tradesperson, preferably in HD fitting, diesel mechanics or fitter machinism
  • Experience in similar technical roles with a strong technical background
  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes within engineering and earthmoving industries
  • Excellent communication and intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Word & Excel
