Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Teacher to join our team at the State Government of Victoria, Australia. As a Graduate Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students and contributing to the growth and development of our school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level, promoting student engagement and learning.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress in key learning areas, using data to inform teaching practice.
  • Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues and school leaders.
  • Maintain accurate records of class attendance and student progress, ensuring compliance with departmental requirements.
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school's charter, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with a mentor to participate in professional development planning, implementation, and reflection, developing a professional portfolio.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Supervise a range of student activities, including support and welfare programs, to promote student well-being and engagement.
  • Contribute to a range of co-curricular programs, enhancing the school's extracurricular offerings and promoting student participation.
Requirements
  • Have completed a teaching degree and graduated within the last 4 years.
  • Not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
  • Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Conditions of Employment

Appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to a satisfactory pre-employment conditions check. A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment, and induction and support programs will be provided.

Eligibility for incentive payments will be determined based on the successful candidate's commitment to a minimum of 1 year employment at the school and meeting the eligibility criteria outlined in the conditions of employment.
