Operations Engineering Manager Role Summary

The Operations Engineering Manager will oversee the coordination of operations, strategic planning, resource allocation, and progress assessment to optimize Starship and Super Heavy Booster performance.

  • Manage a team of engineers and data analysts to focus on critical problems and develop their skills as leaders.
  • Align people, processes, products, parts, and physical plant to meet ambitious targets for safety, quality, output, and efficiency.
  • Conduct operations engineering at a strategic level by optimizing resources, schedules, and risk across production and launch.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing a team of operations engineers, industrial engineers, and data analysts to prioritize company goals.
  2. Coordinating with cross-functional teams in supply chain, engineering, operations, and finance to synchronize efforts.
  3. Developing key performance measures to optimize production and ensure measured parameters align with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, military, aerospace, or automotive environments.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience or education in management science and engineering, operations engineering, operations research, or industrial engineering.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Excellent written and executive communication skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed, including occasional short-notice domestic travel.
