Job Title: Maintenance Specialist

The role involves working as a Maintenance Specialist in an open-cut mining environment. This permanent full-time position is based on an 8/6 7/7 (Days & Nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy mobile equipment, primarily Track Dozers, Wheel Loaders and Graders to support Load and Haul activities.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Support drill pattern preparation, area clearances and maintaining infrastructure such as haul road intersections, waste dumps and ROM pads.
  • Assist loader operators to load dump trucks and maintain optimal cycle times.
  • Input production data onto daily production sheets for reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in all work areas.
  • Conduct machinery pre-starts to identify faults or hazards on the machine.
  • Operate allocated machinery within specifications and site requirements.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Utilise Fleet Management Systems appropriate to the machine.
  • Work collaboratively with a can-do attitude and follow industry best practices.
  • Assist with undertaking other tasks and operating mobile machinery as required.
About You:
  • Experience with ancillary mining mobile plant: Track Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Graders, Rock Breakers, Excavators, Dump Trucks, and Water Carts.
  • Attention to detail and ore hygiene focus to avoid ore contamination.
  • Experience using fleet management systems, ideally MineStar.
  • Collaborative team player with a passion for achieving goals together.
  • Flexible approach to work, including operating other machinery and hot seating.
  • Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including nights.
  • Strong focus on safety and best practices within the mining industry.
  • WA Driver's licence: HR preferred.
