Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Scheduler to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role involves translating client engineering drawings and plans into reinforcing bar schedules for production and dispatch to client sites. As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for providing front-line customer service to ensure customer expectations are met or appropriately passed to the correct service point.

This position requires preparation of estimates and bar schedules for reinforcing across several projects concurrently, detailing grade, diameter, number, and shape of bars for production. You will also be responsible for producing detailed and accurate marking plans showing the placement of reinforcing in projects, as well as entering scheduling information into scheduling software with high accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of estimates and bar schedules for reinforcing across several projects concurrently
  • Production of detailed and accurate marking plans showing the placement of reinforcing in projects
  • Entering scheduling information into scheduling software with high accuracy and consistency
  • Meet set tonnage targets per month
  • Liaising with production, transport staff and contractors to meet lead times and deadlines
  • Maintaining good client relationships for projects under their control, including prompt problem solving
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working for an Australian Reinforcing Steel company
  • Experience in Steel Fixing
  • Strong mathematical skills especially trigonometry and analytical geometry
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and competent with Autocad
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
