Steel Fixing Role OverviewWe are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Steel Fixer to join our team in a market-leading stormwater drainage company. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.The successful Steel Fixer will be responsible for cutting, bending, tying, and assembling reinforcing steel (reo) for precast concrete cages used in stormwater infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret basic reo schedules and cage diagrams to ensure accurate assembly
  • Cut, bend, and tie reo to specification, maintaining high-quality standards
  • Assemble reo cages efficiently and accurately, meeting daily targets
  • Collaborate with the production team to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Steel Fixer or reo worker, preferably in precast or construction
  • Confident use of hand tools and cutting/bending equipment, with a focus on precision and accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret basic plans, ensuring understanding of project requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and reliability in meeting deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment
