About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Risk Specialist to join our Data Governance and Risk Team at Macquarie. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assessing and bringing enterprise-critical data usages under governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document end-to-end data flows and system processes to identify potential data risks and mitigating controls.
  • Recognize opportunities for enhancements of processes and controls to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Manage the implementation of the Enterprise Data Management framework, including identifying and assessing data usages, critical data elements, and facilitating their approval.
  • Define and assess business metadata through stakeholder workshops, map data lineage, and identify and assess data risks and controls.
  • Facilitate data governance business overview sessions to cover essential topics, including the framework, principles, procedures, metrics, and tools.
Requirements
  • Strong business analysis skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels across the organisation.
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage stakeholders, and deliver on multiple streams of work simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in data governance or data management.
  • Good project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant business, quantitative or IT-related degree qualification.
  • Enterprise Data Management tooling experience, e.g. Collibra.
