Job Opportunity: Injection Moulding Technician/Die Setter

We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician/Die Setter to join our production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for die-setting moulding machines, troubleshooting, and optimizing moulds/tools. Key responsibilities include performing checks and readjustments of machines as necessary, machine maintenance, and technical fault finding.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and plastics experience preferred
  • Understanding of how to conduct tool trials
  • Proven experience with moulding and machine robots
  • Understanding of a systematic approach to die trials
  • Previous experience with a manufacturing execution system (MES)
  • Proven record of mechanical aptitude
  • Patient individual with attention to detail, able to work methodically, accurately, neatly, and efficiently
  • Good verbal and written skills, understanding of OH & S laws to run equipment safely
  • The ability to influence outcomes and be a team player
  • Ability to lead a team
  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude and strong work ethic

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of moulds and their setup
  • Die-setting moulding machines, including start-ups and shutdowns, and working with machine robots
  • Confident tool-changing ability, troubleshooting, and optimizing moulds/tools, performing checks and readjustments of machines as necessary
  • A quick response to breakdowns, technical fault finding, and correcting faults and machine maintenance
  • Understanding of various commodity and engineering polymers
