Defence Project Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Defence Project Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex projects. This role is a key position within a multidisciplinary team responsible for driving project outcomes aligned with national security objectives.

You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met within scope budget and schedule. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to Australia's Defence capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level project support across multiple Defence initiatives ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and Defence policy.
  • Coordinate project planning scheduling reporting and risk management activities.
  • Monitor project performance and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefings reports and documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including Defence contractors government agencies and industry partners.
  • Identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in contract management and procurement processes in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
About You:
  • Proven experience in project management or coordination in a Defence or government environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence project governance and capability lifecycle e.g. CASG ICP DCP.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear actionable recommendations.
  • High level of integrity discretion and commitment to working in a security-sensitive environment.
Essential Criteria:
  • Australian Citizenship Mandatory
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance NV1 or above
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management Business Public Administration or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a project or program support role
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience using project management tools e.g. MS Project Primavera Jira
  • PRINCE2 AgilePM or PMP certification
