Technical Service Supervisor Position

We are seeking a highly organized and professional technical service supervisor to lead and supervise our team of skilled technicians.

The successful candidate will support the team in achieving optimal customer satisfaction through efficient service management and supervising the quality of work. This is a site-based role, located at our Sydney branch.

This role will also drive productivity, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes in a cost-effective manner.

• Supervise and lead the team of technicians to meet productivity, customer, and quality system requirements.
• Respond to service calls, book customer service requests, and coordinate technician attendance for service agreements, calibrations, installations, and breakdowns with accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with the service team to plan and organize local and intrastate service jobs within job cost requirements. Provide supervision and guidance for safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the State Manager to increase service revenue and maximize chargeable hours. Grow and develop the contracted and non-contracted customer database through proactive service provision and communications.
• Complete all service call invoicing by month's end.
• Establish strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and managers to provide advice on best approaches and methods for scheduled work. Communicate Work In Progress (WIP) for full job close-out.
• Assist with staff training and mentoring through regular feedback and dated communications.
• Monitor customer service reports, time sheets, invoices, and expense reports associated with Service Staff and customers for compliance and accuracy.
• Ensure inventory allocation for service work is accurate, including coordination with the inventory control function for stock availability.
• Immediately respond to and resolve issues related to compliance with local, state, and federal government legislation applicable to electrical and measurement trades.
• Implement and maintain annual performance reviews and development plans for the team.

About The Role

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in technical service supervision with solid leadership and people management skills.
• Experience completing performance management processes to develop and grow the team.
• Experience supervising trade-based teams in an industrial environment is key.
• Outstanding customer service skills, a positive attitude, and strong accuracy and attention to detail in completing service, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• An ability to relate to and communicate effectively with technicians, sub-contractors, and other trades persons via a strong technical aptitude.
• A strong work ethic, teamwork, and commitment to individual and team goal achievements.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, combined with excellent time management and coordinating skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Possess high-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience using Field Service Management (FSM) business systems is highly desirable.
