In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues swiftly and efficiently, ensuring the safety of our people, fleet integrity, and timely vehicle repair responses.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to take your career to the next level as a Diesel Mechanic and work with advanced vehicle telematics, fleet management software, and exceptional communication skills. You will work closely with drivers, Linfox Service Centres, and vendors to drive corrective repair actions and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage breakdowns nationally, determining necessary repairs, and prioritizing responses.
  • Monitor vehicle telematics to assist in timely vehicle repairs.
  • Collaborate effectively with drivers, Linfox Service Centres, and vendors to drive corrective repair actions.
  • E nsure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance/repairs with nation-wide Linfox Service Centres and Vendors.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge and familiarity of heavy vehicle systems, mechanics, and electronics.
  • Familiarity with heavy vehicle telematic systems is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word) – experience with SAP is highly regarded.
