Role Overview
Spinal Life Australia is a leading NDIS provider dedicated to empowering individuals with spinal cord injuries, physical disabilities, and neurological conditions to lead accessible, equitable, and empowered lives. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health Services team at the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre in Cairns.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough client assessments to understand and address their physical needs.
- Trial and recommend appropriate equipment to optimize client functionality.
- Prepare and manage funding applications to secure essential assistive technology and supports.
- Advocate for clients' personal support needs and assist with funding applications.
- Provide expert advice on equipment and lifestyle management, including pressure area care.
- Complete assessments for home modifications and submit detailed reports.
- Empower individuals through tailored strategies and advocate for their lifestyle choices.
- Deliver hands-on upper limb therapy in both individual and group settings.
Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate caseloads independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving high-level outcomes for clients.
- Experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injury or physical disabilities preferred.
- Familiarity with fee-for-service environments is advantageous.
