About You

The Minor Works Coordinator is responsible for managing various minor works projects at RMIT University. The role requires a good understanding of project management practices, enabling the candidate to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of project costing, risk management, and project coordination. They must be able to inform, engage, and coordinate with stakeholders in a high-volume work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate project user requirements and estimate project costs.
  • Monitor project progress and provide technical expertise to resolve issues.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external project teams.
  • Manage project risks and ensure minor works meet financial, performance, quality, safety, and environmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in managing minor works/projects, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and cost parameters in a large complex organisation.
  • Able to inform, engage, and coordinate with stakeholders in a high-volume work environment.
  • Good verbal and written skills, negotiation, and interacting skills with the ability to adapt communication styles.
  • Experience in providing regular updates on project progressions and outcomes.
  • Technical knowledge of construction disciplines, conversant with Victorian Building Regulations, Work cover, Occupational Health and Safety, and other relevant standards.
  • Ability to manage contracts, programs, and projects, deliver results on time and within budget for multiple projects.
  • Ability to understand and translate User requirements into sound technical specifications.
