About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Canine Attendant to join our team at Guide Dogs Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our Guide Dogs colony.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general canine duties and tasks, including bathing, grooming, health checking, weighing, exercising, feeding, and toileting.
  • Administer tasks relating to the health and general husbandry of the dogs in our care.
  • Work a rotating 7-day roster, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Be flexible and able to cover last-minute shifts.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate III in Animal Studies or relevant experience working in kennels, veterinary clinics, or boarding facilities.
  • Open Driver's Licence.
  • An up-to-date tetanus vaccination.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under a high-pressure environment.
  • The ability to be flexible with working hours and requirements.
