About the Role

This is an identified position that requires a deep understanding of and connection to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. If you are passionate about delivering culturally responsive care and supporting the well-being of children and families, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individualized support needs for children and families.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and cultural considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective case management.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy for children and families, promoting empowerment and self-determination.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and expertise.
  • A minimum of one year's experience working with children, young people, and families in a child protection or community service context.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection frameworks, including the Child Protection Act 1999.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including children, families, and community agencies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child development and trauma theory.
  • Certified driver's license (P2 minimum).
