About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator Water Industry Operations to join our team at Gympie Regional Council. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of water, sewage, and recycled water systems in line with environmental, safety, and water quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the operations team in planning, resource allocation, and the execution of tasks to ensure water, sewage, and recycled water systems are efficient and compliant.
  • Coordinate operational processes, including routine and regulatory testing, and ensure that all procedures align with best-practice management.
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and risk reduction within the team.
Requirements
  • Leadership: Proven ability to effectively lead a team of people, promote a positive, dynamic organisational culture, and manage the performance of staff members and contractors.
  • Strategy: Implementation of workforce strategies to achieve the Water vision, goals, and key priorities, including development of standard operating and monitoring procedures.
  • Innovation: Foster a climate for continuous improvement, identify new emerging technologies or practices, and reduce the whole of asset life cycle cost.
  • Performance: Deliver a competitive and reliable level of service to customers, regulators, and the community.
