Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Human Factors Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our People, Movement & Place Capability, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of rail systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply Human Factors Integration within the engineering design process for rail systems, ensuring the development of structured and rigorous consideration of Human Factors issues and their mitigations from the beginning of the rail asset cycle.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to apply a range of Human Factors principles, methods, tools, and data to inform design development and contribute to the overall safety assurance argument.
  • Ensure that the design of the rail system reflects the task capabilities and requirements of all end users.
  • Work alongside state and national sector leads to ensure seamless Human Factors integration.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Human Factors Specialist role.
  • A degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for or hold Chartership / Fellowship with Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (or international equivalent).
  • Proven track record of successful Human Factors integration within the rail industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating dynamic communication channels and ensuring impactful exchange of ideas.
  • Commercial insight and ability to contribute to work-winning initiatives.
  • Robust analytical acumen and ability to decipher intricate data patterns.
  • Passion for cultivating a project culture that promotes teamwork and motivation.
