Specialist Occupational Therapist Role

At Wayi School, we strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students, staff and community members. Our school acknowledges the importance of partnership between our school and parents/carers in supporting student learning, engagement and wellbeing.
Our Occupational Therapist will play a pivotal role in delivering evidence-based therapeutic supports across the school through a multi-tiered system of support model. They will work collaboratively with therapy leaders, teachers, allied health professionals and education support staff to develop and implement individualised occupational therapy programs catering to the diverse needs of our students.
The successful applicant will possess expertise in delivering occupational therapy services to students aged 5-18 years in a specialist educational setting. They will be skilled in various tasks including assessments, planning, implementation of evidence-based intervention strategies, report writing and resource development related to sensory and emotional regulation, self-care, fine motor skills, seating and positioning, and play skills.
They will also have the ability to liaise and collaborate with class teams, families/carers and external therapy teams to improve student outcomes at school. Additionally, they will contribute to fortnightly therapy team meetings and monthly clinical supervision with the Occupational Therapy Leader.
