We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will work with vulnerable children, young people, and their families to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
About the Role- You will work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to address safety and well-being concerns.
- You will collaborate with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving to provide appropriate assistance through home visits.
- You will develop safety plans and complete risk assessments to manage cases and situations involving high needs and high-risk clients and their families.
- You will be involved in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court.
- You will participate in individual and group supervision to receive guidance and support.
- A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred; applicants without a relevant qualification require at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
- You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to build positive working relationships.
- You must hold a valid driver's license and a paid working with children clearance number.
- You must document verification of Aboriginality, confirming that you are an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent and identify as being Aboriginal.
- A competitive salary from $87,315 to $113,562 per annum plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
