We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Equipment Operator to join our Park and Open Space Team at Townsville City Council.

About the Role

This role is critical in maintaining Council's image as efficient, effective, professional and customer-focused. You will be responsible for completing a range of assigned maintenance and functional activities across multiple disciplines, including the maintenance and operation of Council's Irrigation systems.

You will also drive manual light trucks, loading, unloading and tying down loads, and be physically fit to perform the variety of work. Our team is driven to have our parks and open spaces look fantastic and operate in a safe manner for the community.

As a Maintenance Equipment Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of sectional and team objectives, ensuring that our public infrastructure within parks and open spaces is well-maintained and meets the needs of residents and visitors.

Requirements
  • A current unrestricted Queensland "C" class manual driver's licence (essential)
  • A current unrestricted Queensland "MR" class licence or the ability to attain (desirable)
  • Construction Safety (White Card) certification or the ability to attain
  • Queensland Government Traffic Controller Accreditation for Traffic Management Implementation (TMI), or the ability to attain
  • Certificate associated with the successful completion of the Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course, or ability to attain
  • Child Suitability (Blue Card), or ability to attain (role specific only, not required for all roles)
