Support Worker Job Description

At Alpha Omega Aged Care and Disability Services, we are seeking Support Workers to join our team in the Sydney region. The role of a Support Worker is crucial in assisting elderly and disability clients to maintain their independence and overall wellbeing in a home or community setting.

**Job Responsibilities:**

  • Assist with daily care tasks for clients at their home, including showering, changing clothes, brushing teeth, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as domestic cleaning, laundry, food preparation, and shopping.
  • Transport and accompany clients when required.
  • Provide social support to improve clients' wellbeing and independence.
  • Complete administrative tasks, like clocking in/out after each shift, making incident reports, and entering shift notes on the rostering app.

The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the company's objectives and the wellbeing of clients.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Confident and calm demeanor.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear and concise communication, and adapting to each client's needs.
  • A current/valid police check, or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.

We value desirable qualifications and criteria, including:

  • Experience working with people with disabilities and/or elderly individuals.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability or Home, Social and Community Service), or willingness to upskill through online and onsite training.
  • Ability to speak Cantonese or Mandarin.
  • Driver's license and vehicle ownership is desirable.
