Contract Performance Audit Specialist

As a Contract Performance Audit Specialist at BDO, you will play a key role in providing assurance services to our key clients through independent review of project estimates and contractual arrangements prior to contract execution.
You will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering major assurance and advisory engagements, including contract performance audit, compliance audit, and related contract advisory assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and mentoring a team of highly skilled contract performance audit, internal audit, and risk advisory staff.
- Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of industry sectors, with a focus on risk, controls, and assurance.
- Supervise and undertake fieldwork, including scoping and delivering of risk advisory engagements.
- Prepare written reports and deliverables of a high quality and standard, adhering to budgets and timelines.
- Internal and external stakeholder management to deliver bespoke solutions.
- Drive the continuous improvement of current practice processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with senior management on continuous growth initiatives and business development of the practice.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role gained within the professional services industry.
- Natural ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and analytical skills.
- Accounting, legal, or business-related tertiary qualification.
- Post-graduate professional qualifications (CA/CPA/CIA).
- Experience with developing and reviewing internal audit scopes and statements of work.
- Solid experience in process mapping, risk, and control identification.
- Experience in presenting to senior management, boards, and ARCs.
- Exposure to latest best practices/methodologies/frameworks in regard to risk management, project management, records management, procurement/contract management, governance, legislative compliance, etc.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
- Australian driver's license and vehicle access (as travel outside of Brisbane Metro may be required).
