Job Description

The Parent Pathways Mentor role involves working closely with disadvantaged parents to empower them in their transition back into the workforce.

Key responsibilities include assisting parents in setting education and employment goals, developing pathway plans, and connecting them to relevant services and activities within the local community.

This position plays a crucial role in empowering customers by helping them identify individual education and employment goals, providing career advice, and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities.

By adopting a holistic approach, the mentor collaborates with customers to meet their individual needs and provides support in achieving their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Empower customers to identify their individual education and employment goals
  • Provide career advice and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities
  • Collaborate with customers using a holistic approach to meet their individual needs
  • Engage with the local community to build relationships and coordinate referrals to community agencies
  • Assist customers with job applications, CV development, interview preparation, understanding employer expectations, and building employability skills
About You:
  • Able to build strong relationships within the community
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organisational, and customer service skills
  • An empathetic approach with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People or Children Check (or equivalent)
  • Current driver's license
