About the Role

We're seeking a roving part-time copy editor to work two days a week across the Women's Entertainment category, assisting on our weekly brands, including Woman's Day, New Idea, TV Week, Who, Take 5, and that's life.

You'll be responsible for copy editing and fact checking everything from celebrity updates and exclusive interviews with Aussie talent to breaking news stories and lifestyle and food content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date with celebrity, royal, TV/entertainment, and breaking Aussie news
  • Copy edit and fact check magazine features – editorial and lifestyle – providing feedback and guidance for writers and contributors
  • Help maintain the overall tone of the publication being worked on
  • Take charge of legal checks and prepublication processes where required
  • Adhere to a clear and effective omnichannel workflow

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience on a magazine, website, or related industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high-level attention to detail
  • Ability to change tone and style to match any of the publications in the Women's Entertainment vertical
  • Ability to deal with a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Experience with editorial software applications
