Teaching Opportunity for First Nations Social Workers

We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our teaching team for the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program.

This position is part of our commitment to strengthening the voices and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in higher education.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping how future social workers understand and engage with First Nations communities, contributing to embedding cultural safety and self-determination into curriculum and practice.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a practicing Social Worker, a commitment to advancing cultural safety and First Nations perspectives in education, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering interactive workshops (primarily on campus)
  • Marking assessments and managing classroom administration
  • Supporting and advising students
  • Contributing to culturally safe and inclusive learning environments

Opportunities to act as Unit Coordinator may be available.

Requirements
  • A Master's-level qualification in Social Work (preferred)
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Extensive experience as a practicing Social Worker
  • A commitment to advancing cultural safety and First Nations perspectives in education
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to delivering accredited courses in psychology, social work, counselling, coaching, criminology, law, and business management and leadership.
