Instrumental Specialist

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the ASPIRE team in Newcastle West as a casual Instrumental Specialist. This role is part of a larger creative and performing arts program that fosters creativity in students through various workshops and performance opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have skills and knowledge of music theory and practice, enabling them to develop young performers within the ASPIRE program. They will also be responsible for managing rehearsals of the stage band, assisting with learning assigned parts, and conducting part of the production.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A deep understanding of music theory and harmony, including its relevance to performance and ability to develop this understanding in young people.
  • Knowledge of instrumental technique in various instruments.
  • Ability to use notation methods such as traditional notation, scores, and chord charts.
  • Studio teaching experience, teaching technique, theory, and performance skills to young people.
  • Experience leading and conducting instrumental ensembles.
