About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Ability Action Australia. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of the community by acting as an advocate and role model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for our participants.
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices.
  • Build the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives, including family, carers, and friends.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
About You
  • You will have a degree-level qualification as an allied health professional, preferably in Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or Social Work.
  • You will have experience creating, implementing, and reviewing behaviour support plans.
  • You will be proficient, advanced, or specialist status as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • You will have a genuine passion for working in the Disability sector and a commitment to delivering high-quality support services.

We love getting together at our modern office, which also has a dedicated clinic space, as well as local cafes to support participants, support each other, and socialise.
