About the Role

The HSQE Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations team and broader business in managing HSQE risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements, client expectations, accreditations, and standards.

This position involves maintaining HSQE systems and data recording, assisting sites with compliance to Civeo's Integrated Management System, and developing a positive people-based safety culture. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining the HSQE Management System (IMS) on site and ensuring ISO certifications
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSQE policies
  • Facilitating accident/incident investigations and maintaining records and statistics
  • Assisting in coordinating and conducting induction and HSQE training programs for staff
  • Identifying and assessing potential hazards and risks
  • Developing controls to resolve HSQE hazards/risks/issues in the workplace
  • Monitoring legal and other requirements and industry trends and ensuring compliance
  • Developing site emergency response plans and conducting training and drills with management, employees, and contractors
  • Monitoring HSQE performance and statistics and discussing with management areas in need of focus
  • Providing guidance and training to staff on HSQE best practices, regulations, and procedures

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Certificate IV or equivalent in Workplace Health & Safety and have a proven track record of successful implementation of initiatives or improvements with frontline workforce. Other desirable qualifications include Lead Auditor, Training & Assessment, Risk Management, Incident Investigation (ICAM), Cert IV Training & Assessment, Food Safety, Drug & Alcohol Testing, Fire Safety, and First Aid. Experience in workforce accommodation or similar industry is also desirable.
