Senior Electrical Project Engineer

A high-profile energy project in regional Queensland requires a senior electrical project engineer to lead complex scopes, work closely with construction teams, and drive real results in the field.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to take on a key role in a major project. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering planning and delivery of electrical scopes across multiple work fronts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive engineering plans to ensure timely and within-budget completion of electrical scopes.
  • Review and translate technical drawings, specifications, and schedules into actionable execution plans.
  • Manage construction trackers and package-level scheduling to optimize project progress and efficiency.
  • Forecast costs and monitor progress against commercial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Investigate and resolve onsite safety, quality, or environmental issues to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support junior engineers and site teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure milestones and compliance are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the civil, energy, or oil & gas construction sectors.
  • Previous exposure to electrical scopes, site-based delivery, and high-volume works.
  • Experience with High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or pipeline and lease work is highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and advise field teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office and scheduling tools.
  • Comfortable working a 100% site-based roster – 14:7 FIFO (Roma + bus to site).
