Emergency Department Specialist

Provide exceptional clinical services to patients in the Emergency Department, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Deliver expert medical care for inpatients experiencing clinical deterioration after hours, including Code Blue and Code Black situations.
Adhere to Regional, Hospital, and departmental policy manuals and documents, and maintain alignment with the standards of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
Engage actively in the teaching of trainee medical officers, interns, medical students, and where applicable, nursing and allied health professionals.
Participate in clinical audits, quality, safety, and clinical risk management activities to continually improve patient care standards.
Contribute to research initiatives and continuous medical education to advance knowledge and practices in Emergency Medicine.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
About the Role:
This is a pivotal role in a respected Emergency Department with a focus on high-quality patient care and clinical leadership. As an Emergency Department Consultant, you will deliver clinical services of the highest standard, ensuring exceptional care for patients in the Emergency Department. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, supporting inpatients during clinical deterioration, and actively participating in teaching, quality management, and research activities. You will be part of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, which provides a wide range of healthcare services to residents within the Limestone Coast region.
