We are seeking a skilled Tradesperson to join our team in the role of Mechanical Technician. The successful candidate will have experience in fitting and turning, preferably with knowledge of heavy machinery or truck-mounted equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assemble, fit, and maintain mechanical components and systems for various applications.
  • To read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to ensure precise assembly and fitment of parts.
  • To operate lathes, milling machines, and other precision machining tools to fabricate parts with tight tolerances.
  • To perform maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on mechanical systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety standards.
  • To conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • To diagnose faults and malfunctions in mechanical systems, determining appropriate repair solutions.
  • To collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and improve mechanical designs.
  • To ensure all work is carried out in compliance with industry safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • To maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Fitter and Turner, preferably with experience in heavy machinery or truck-mounted equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and other precision machining tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to precision in fitting and assembly work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Trade certification in fitting and turning or mechanical engineering is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
