Sessional Academic Educator

Notre Dame is seeking experienced academics to teach enabling programs on a sessional basis. These programs prepare students for university study by developing essential skills, including academic writing, research, and information literacy.
We are looking for staff with subject matter expertise in areas such as academic literacy and communication skills, human biology, mathematics, or research and academic writing. The successful candidate will conduct tutorials/lectures, consult with students, and assist with assessment administration.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students.
- Prepare lesson plans and facilitate group discussions and activities to enhance student engagement.
- Provide individual consultations with students on weekly topics, readings, and upcoming assessments.
- Assist with assessment administration, including marking and providing feedback to students.
- A minimum of an undergraduate qualification (with Honours, Master's, or PhD desirable).
- Prior teaching experience at the tertiary level, with a sound understanding of core academic skills required for successful university study.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathy with students.
- A willingness to learn how to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
