Establish a leadership role in our news team by taking up the position of Northern Editor. This opportunity is situated in Broome, and you will report directly to the Managing Editor.
About the Role:- Deliver high-quality news content for publication across various platforms;
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders and organisations;
- Uncover breaking news stories and create engaging content that resonates with our audience;
- Guide the editorial direction of our regional publications;
- Develop your reporting skills through confident and professional interviews and photography;
- Mentor a small team of reporters;
- Collaborate effectively with our senior regional leadership team;
- Promote the company's values and reputation through excellent communication and representation.
- Demonstrate exceptional time management and adaptability under pressure;
- Possess at least two years of experience as a reporter, with a strong portfolio of work;
- Exhibit excellent writing and communication skills, with attention to detail and a keen sense of news judgment;
- Show a passion for local news and a commitment to delivering accurate and engaging content;
- Hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as required;
- Be driven by a passion for journalism and a desire to make a difference in our community.
