Pharmacy Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Ballarat Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in providing pharmacy services to patients, external organizations, and hospital caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medication, manufacturing extemporaneous items, and preparing claim data.
  • Manage pharmacy and ward inventory, including ordering drugs from suppliers and preparing imprest lists.
  • Prepare drug pre-packs for use in the Emergency Department.
  • Maintain and review the After Hours Drug System.
  • Support oncology pharmacists with compilation of orders, receipt and unpacking of deliveries, and supply to the ward.
  • Perform pharmacy reception duties, including interactions with ward staff, doctors, and patients.

Requirements:

  • Certificate 3 Hospital Community Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Salary: $55,261 to $56,925 plus 11.5% Superannuation.
