Job Title: Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to fill the position of Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist. This role is designed for individuals who possess a strong understanding of child protection principles, policies, and procedures.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with families, communities, and other stakeholders to provide support and services that promote the safety and well-being of children. This includes conducting home visits, assessing risk factors, developing safety plans, and participating in court processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people.
  • Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
  • Manage cases and situations, including working with high needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, applicants must have a relevant diploma or degree qualification. Alternatively, they may have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families. A valid driver's license and documented verification of Aboriginality are also essential requirements.
