Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Opportunity

KPMG's Office of General Counsel is seeking a skilled and experienced attorney to join our team in a role focused on commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Office of General Counsel, external law firms, and counsel to resolve disputes, address regulatory issues, and respond to claims against KPMG.
  • Provide timely legal advice to KPMG on complex legal risks and issues.
  • Assist in responding to orders, notices, summonses, and subpoenas served on KPMG.
  • Develop a broad range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution experience through a diverse workload in a challenging in-house role.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, drafting skills, and legal research skills.
  • Be familiar with the court system in New South Wales (Federal Court and Supreme Court).
  • Have a strong academic record with 3-4 years post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in an in-house environment.
  • Experience in employment law matters is preferred but not essential.
  • Be analytical, commercial, solution-focused, and keen to learn.
  • Have an ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • Possess a strong team-oriented attitude.
  • Be focused on their professional development and improvement.
