Job Description:

The role of a leader in student learning and support is critical at an educational institution, overseeing a department that provides holistic support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise a team, providing clear direction and ensuring staff development.
  2. Foster collaboration with stakeholders to create a positive and effective team environment.
  3. Oversee and apply expertise in specialized support services for students, ensuring best practices and consistent implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  4. Coordinate and manage resources and staff to deliver effective support and extension programs for students.
  5. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data collection, and audits while overseeing adjustments and provisions for students' needs.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance the operations of the Student Learning and Support department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active church attendance are inherent requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to child safety in an education setting.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • NESA teacher registration and post-graduate qualifications in special education.
  • Substantial experience in leading a team in specialized support services for students.
  • Demonstrated experience in building processes and systems that support funding and compliance requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory regulations.
  • Demonstrated competencies in leadership, working with people, applying expertise, planning and organizing, and delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
