Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our community.

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching English across Years 7 to 12, ensuring that the school's values and ethos permeate all aspects of pedagogy, curriculum and academic care.

  • Ensure that the school's values and ethos permeate all aspects of pedagogy, curriculum and academic care.
  • Demonstrate a contemporary understanding of learning and the social/emotional needs of students with a particular passion for girls' education.
  • Provide academic and pastoral care for all students by implementing a Student Wellbeing Framework and Positive Behaviours Strategy, including a Restorative Practices approach to all interactions.
  • Plan and deliver teaching and learning experiences for students that meet the aims, objectives and outcomes of the Australian Curriculum and Queensland syllabuses.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority syllabuses and processes and Australian Curriculum frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education in the Mercy tradition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Current teaching certification.
  • Proven experience working with students in a similar age group.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
