The Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the redesign of our core platform. In this role, you will be responsible for deconstructing and reimagining the platform's architecture to enhance performance and scalability. You will guide the implementation of best practices across the Azure suite, ensuring a robust, future-proof solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of architects, providing direction and support in the implementation of Azure cloud architecture solutions, and oversee issues such as migration.
- Drive, plan, and develop blueprints and deliverables that help customers advance their Azure Cloud capabilities, involving both new solutions and migration of existing solutions.
- Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts.
- Estimate and outline the solutions needed to implement cloud migration.
- Execute the hands-on implementation of proposed solutions and provide technical guidance to teams during the solutions development and deployment phases.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate the assumptions, issues, and risks that occur throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technology and industry trends in the cloud and define new patterns and standards as required.
- Collaborate and guide other team members to design and develop end-to-end processes aligning with the defined architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing scalable, high-availability cloud architectures.
- Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, serverless computing, and containerization (Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of core Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, etc.).
- Familiarity with Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
- Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Blueprints, and other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Understanding of security best practices, including the implementation of Azure Security Center, Azure Policies, encryption, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in Azure storage services and database offerings (MySQL, MongoDB).
- Experience in architecting data lakes, data warehouses, and using services like Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
